Justified and Other Poems

by Aman Chougle

Fall in love if you wish to experience the thrillingly dangerous, or if you are in love, try accepting one another for what you are. If you have just met that special someone, wonder if your destiny is unity. Aman Chougle presents minute yet interesting facets of romance through three poems.

Justified

To give in
is dangerous.

But danger is
beautiful and alive
like a storm.

When it’s calm outside
we usually keep the curtains
drawn, but there’s
nobody looking.

That’s why I’m finally
giving into a girl
so that I can see
whips of lightning
like time has stopped
and watch water
seep into areas
I didn’t think possible.

Love

Meet me halfway, there are
things you want to do, and
there are things I can’t live
without.

Instead of changing
each other, why not accept
each other for who we are?

So then I know you
and you know me
and the whole world
stops bothering me.

To you know who

People can be
in the same place in life
and still want different things.

But if unity is our destiny
I can’t wait until the next time
we meet.
