Ode to the Unspoken Word

by Rakshaki Krishnamurthy

Sometimes it is better to listen to the voice of your heart than withholding the magical words. Rakshaki Krishnamurthy writes an ode to the unspoken word.

Resonance, as they say, is when two hearts pulsate as one
Out of love that emanates, stirring thy soul, and out of passion undone
Mundane will no more be thy scorching days, neither the estranged nights
As her warmth shuns away the flaring sun and her eyes the impish stars
None but her fingers can brush thy tears shed and those unshed
Cowardice it is to forsake and call her your friend, detaining thy heart’s voice
Every moment you remain shall sting, for thy life is indeed thy own choice

Rakshaki is a computer engineer, by (a not so well thought) choice, an avid reader and a literary enthusiast by natural design. She comes from Madurai, the Temple City and lives in Bangalore, a city that does not chastise her for singing on the roads while walking. She is crazy about all genres of music, Carnatic music in particular. On Sunday mornings, she can be caught sipping filter coffee off a “Davara-Tumblar” and being helped by her dad to identify ragas.
