Letters

by Jyothsnaphanija

Letters could be companions in loneliness by invoking memories, stresses Jyothsnaphanija, through her poem. Read on.

Flowing into the letters
Time rewinds the memories penned on blankness,
Colours of the palms,
Years hydrated in small envelopes,
Thoughts regurgitated in long sentences.
Increasing the thickness with each reading,
The letters moisturize the dust of misinterpreted feelings.

A letter transports to the unseen continents,
Another picture holds flowers.
A word owns the world,
Isolation of a letter in a phrase begins a new chapter.
In each lonely hour,
An old letter carries the weight of solitary moments.
