In Thoughts

by Satyam Pati

In a poem, Satyam Pati throws light on the yearnings of someone who has loved but could never confess.

In thoughts, I live that life with you,
That the reality of the morning never knew
In wintery evenings we walk by the lake,
Your fingers kissing my palms anew

In thoughts, I sing my song to you,
That my mundane evenings never knew
In summer nights we whisper for hours late,
Your words gently kissing mine anew

In thoughts, I touch your tresses too,
That my calloused hands never knew
In autumn afternoons we lie on fallen leaves,
Together humming a couplet new

In thoughts, I speak your name true,
That only my gloomy mind knew
In the tired today in a queue of tomorrows,
On dreams unspoken, I shed a few tears new
