Write for Us

Hello! After publishing 125 issues from January 2010 to May 2020 on the 5th of every month, we have decided to take a break. We are currently not accepting submissions. Please browse through our archives to read our earlier issues. Do check back here regularly or follow us on Facebook or Twitter to get updates on our next steps.

  1. Hello,

I had contributed my work for the magazine but I think it did not meet the editor’s expectation. May I submit the same somewhere else for publication.

    Please reply.

    Thanks & regards,

    • As clearly stated in our submission guidelines listed above, if your contribution has not been accepted by us, you are free to submit the same elsewhere for publication. – Editors

  2. Dear Editor,
I am visually disabled ( blind). I am unable to navigate with MS word file. Would you please allow me to submit in the body of email so that I may face less difficulty in submitting?

    • Yes, you can send us your submission in the body of the email. Please also include a summary of the poem and a bio in third-person along with the submission. We have also sent you an email regarding the same.

      – Editors

  3. Dear Editor,
I am a visually disabled ( blind) person operating with the help of voice software. I am unable to navigate with MS word file. Could you allow me to submit my work through email? You may reject or accept as per your norms. If you could accept in email submission, I would have less difficult y in submission

  4. Wanted to submit my poems. Unfortunately, April dateline is over. Will wait for the May theme. It is wonderful to read and understand your magazine. God bless.

  5. If my contribution is published in the prestigious Spark, would you grant me the copyright to include it in my collection at a future date?

    • Are you sending a submission for the Music Cafe and want to share a picture to go along with it? If you have the permission to use the picture, you can send it but please mention the credits/source. If your submission is accepted and if we feel the pic is an appropriate choice, we will consider it. Hope this clarifies your query.

  6. Hello,
Another query – in event of simultaneous submission, what is the latest date by which the piece should be withdrawn?

  7. Hello,
I would like to know about the terms of copyright. I assume it rests with the author, but is there any exclusitivity that you seek from the writer for a defined period of time?. Am looking for all the clauses that govern copyright. Thanks.

    • Hi Sailaja,

Yes, it rests with the author. However, if you are republishing the piece elsewhere once it’s published with Spark, we request a link back to the original published with us. Hope that clarifies your query. – Editors

  9. Dear editor,
How many submissions are allowed per person for your Fiction Fest? Can we send more than one story for ‘fiction story’ catergory?

  10. Dear Editor
I came across your magazine today. Its commendable that Spark covers an array of topics and genres. Creativity cannot be bound. It needs free flow.I liked the poetry section a lot.
    Anticipating same creativity in future.
    With regards
    Sweta Nautiyal(Tushti)

  11. Hi! Will it be possible to elaborate what is expected in the theme ‘Potpourri’? Shall I take it ‘no particular theme’ and the writer is free to submit his work as his / her own choice or shall it be understood referring to a work which will have Potpourri as a featuring object? It may also mean the mixed bag of characters / emotions etc. Since the expression is fairly open ended, some elaboration shall help.

    Regards

  12. I am interested in writing under the category Storyboard (Movies). Could you please indicate, how many words are you expecting please?

    regards
