The Elements

by Parth Pandya

[box]Two people deeply in love, merge and transform into the five elements of nature namely Wind, Earth, Fire, Water and Ether. Parth Pandya’s poetry marries romance to the five elements.[/box]

You and I are the Windholding-hands-parth-opt
Whistling songs of love unchained
Teasing flowers on harsh mountains
Cascading fragrance far and wide.

You and I are the Earth
Always giving, always receiving
Rising up to break free
From our own obstinate roots.

You and I are Fire
Candles waving arms in a dark room
Flames burning bright in unison
Devouring, creating, in this dance of life.

You and I are Water
Drenched and parched in equal measure
Awash in the limpid pools of your marine eyes
I journey to mirages of horizons close.

You and I are Ether,
Amorphous presences merging
Your hand in mine, my lips on yours
Filling the vast void from here to eternity.

He grew up in Mumbai and spent the last eleven years really growing up in the U.S. and is always looking to brighten up his day through good coffee and great puns.
